1974 Porsche 911 Coupe for sale!

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905

What We Like: Early G-Series 911s have certainly come in to their own in the collector car world, and it’s easy to see why: iconic styling, a mechanically fuel-injected 2.7L flat-six, manual steering, no driver assistance aids, a simple yet functional interior, and a light-weight chassis combine to create a truly analog experience. Desirable features on this particular example include uncommon Blue Metallic paint, a non-sunroof body, a numbers-matching drivetrain, and Porsche Classic Certification recently completed by the seller, a Porsche Classic Partner dealer. Add to that over $50,000 in servicing and refurbishment since late 2020, and this air-cooled 911 becomes a very compelling package. Driving pleasure comes in many forms, but few are as visceral as an early 911.

Vehicle History & Overview

Chassis 9114100633 is a 1974 Porsche 911 finished in its factory color combination of Blue Metallic over a Midnight interior. The vehicle shows 21,581 miles, however, the five-digit odometer has likely rolled over. An extensive cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment was completed by Eurocar-Werk of Houston, Texas in November 2020 totaling $42,063. Highlights included a repaint, wiring repairs, new engine/transmission seals and gaskets, reupholstering of the interior, and more. At the same time, an air-conditioning system was added using OEM replacement and OEM-type parts. In August 2021, the seller (a Porsche Classic Partner dealer) completed over $10,000 in work to get this 911 ready for its next owner. This particular 911 was also featured in Total 911 Magazine, as shown in the photo gallery.

Porsche’s venerable 911 underwent its first generational change with the launch of the „G-series“ in 1974. The most obvious differences were visual, namely a different front hood and new „impact-style“ front/rear bumpers. Power came from a larger, fuel injected 2.7L flat-six producing 150hp in base trim, as offered here. Revised suspension settings rounded out the changes. Year-over-year changes continued through to the final year of G-series production in 1989.
