Porsche 911 E

The legendary 5-meter dashboard is perfectly functional and in good condition. The same goes for the vinyl dashboard which does not show the slightest form of aging.

This copy is equipped with a Porsche Classic Communication Management radio which allows you to keep a retro look with current features such as making calls via Bluetooth or even using GPS.

Frame

When put on the bridge, we were able to observe a sound body and chassis with no trace of corrosion or visible deterioration.

During our road test, we did not find any lack of handling. The steering is incisive and the braking is constant and efficient in line with what is expected of a 911.

The technical control of the vehicle, carried out before the sale of the latter, only corroborated what is said above.

Engine

The mechanics work perfectly. Startup is instantaneous, with no spurious noises or fumes suggesting engine wear. The engine otherwise has a stable idle and shows no signs of overheating.

Once at temperature, the taking of turns is linear and without breaking the load letting the driver benefit from the vocalizations of the flat-6.

The 5-speed manual gearbox shifts up and down smoothly.

Model history

The Porsche 911 is often considered the pinnacle of the classic 911. As soon as it was presented to the public, the 2.4 was offered with mechanical injection under the 2.4E badge. On the side of the bodywork, no major changes apart from the disappearance of the oil trap on the right rear wing. It is especially at the level of the running gear and the engine that the 911 still evolves a notch.

The 2.4 „Einspritzung“, for injection in German, sees its displacement increase to 2341cm³ to keep a power in line with what the competition of the time is doing.
