Porsche 911 Modified

PMO 46mm carburetors wearing mesh velocity stack covers and rain hats provide fuel. Ignition comes from an Electromotive direct-ignition twin-plug ignition system. A Glenn Yee Motorsports ported and polished oil pump supplies Elephant Racing finned lines taking oil to and from a Carrera oil cooler. A custom set of headers with a two-in, two-out Dansk exhaust rounds out the package.

The 901 gearbox was overhauled and had a ZF 906 limited-slip differential installed. The clutch is a Sachs Sport Clutch kit with a balanced flywheel. The engine and transmission mounts are solid. A 915 turret-style shifter and Wevo shift linkage ensure proper gear selection.

The fuel tank is a 20-gallon Fuel Safe aluminum fuel cell, dated 08/04/00.

The suspension is coilovers front and rear with Bilstein Shocks, H&R springs, spherical bearing upper strut mounts, 935-style front suspension with billet crossmember, an adjustable front anti-roll bar, an adjustable front strut tower brace, rear anti-roll bar, rear 935-style adjustable spring plates, gusseted rear shock mounts, and fully overhauled brakes. Front brake calipers are aluminum 911S pieces. The restored 15×6 ‚Deep Six‘ Fuchs wear 2015 date-code Avon CR6ZZ tires. The car is not touring-oriented as set up, and the ride quality is on the stiff side of sporting.

The car’s interior is very Spartan, wearing a full roll cage sans door bars. Recaro ST-style seats upholstered in black vinyl with houndstooth inserts provide an excellent seating position and deep bolsters for the driver when hitting the canyon roads. There’s a dead pedal for the driver to keep themselves in place, and the throttle pedal is relocated and converted to cable actuation. Custom-made rubber mats were made for the car to continue the theme of lightness. 911R-style door panels complement the steel doors. Windows are pulled up and down with a leather security strap, as the car has no regulators. A set of restored gauges were installed along with a new dash topper.

A battery cutoff switch was installed in the doorless glove compartment for ease of access, along with a secondary cutoff located in the trunk.
