Porsche 911 S 1973 – RSR 3.0 Spec “Woodstock”

A unique car with a rich history and highly attractive specification. If you are looking for an adventure tool on the road or the track, look no further. The engine has recently been rebuilt by a renowned local Porsche specialist and puts out 260hp and has a few hundred km on the clock since then.

The son of the present owner baptized the car “Woodstock” because it is yellow and it flies. The name stuck…

Delivered in Germany in 1974 as a 911S, Woodstock was converted to 2.8 RSR body and engine spec in the early 1990s. It raced successfully in the German Youngtimer Trophy until it crashed severely. The then owner didn’t come up with the cash to pay for the rebuild and the repair shop sold the car in pieces to cover the cost. As a consequence, the bare rolling chassis stood unused for years, until the present owner bought it and started a decade long rebuild process.

Between 2006 and 2014 Woodstock was steadily improved until it had its present specification. The specification list is a treasure trove of desirable parts (see below). Woodstock participated in the Dutch Youngtimer and Historic GT and Touringcar Championship. The car participated in a variety of R Gruppe events, as the present owner was the founder of R Gruppe in Europe (2007). Woodstock completed four 4.000 km BergMeister Tours through the French Alps without a hitch.

The way Woodstock is set up, it functions well both as a road and track car. On Alpine passes it carves hairpins sharply and on track it is firm enough to be an encouraging chassis (adjustable stabilizer bars). The car has been lightened as much as possible without compromising reliability. So it has no sound deadening, nor interior finishing, except for a couple of Recaro S style seats, covered in bespoke tartan wool. It has lexan rear quarter windows and rear windshield. There is no heating in the car, but it does have a de-misting blower. The original wiring loom has been replaced by a rally harness with all fuses and relais accessible in the dashboard.

Woodstock is a hard core motor cycle on 4 wheels for the enthusiast who seeks to be engulfed by the pure, raw sensation of spirited driving, in te way only an early 911 can offer. The next owner could continue to use Woodstock as the present owner has. But with a few touches, Woodstock could be an ideal historic rally or race car. The car has an expired Historic Technical Passport and re-registration at FIA should not pose any material challenges. Woodstock is road-legal and has a Dutch license registration.

The present owner said: ”Woodstock has been an adventure in itself and the car has been a conduit to meeting a string of Porsche aficionado’s. I have lovingly taken care of it for many years and set her up to be enjoyed for, hopefully, many decades to come. Driving my modern Porsche I recognize the roots and DNA which the 911 RSR passed on to the next 911 generations. The next owner is a lucky person!”.

Woodstock is priced to sell at € 95.000,=.
