1979 PORSCHE 911 Outlaw for sale!

CPR Classic is delighted to offer this brilliantly executed 911 Outlaw finished in Maritime Blue over a Cobalt blue Spartan interior. This 911 was originally born as a stock 1979 911SC. The car was completely disassembled and the resto-mod build that the car now wears was performed. The car has traveled less than 700 miles since it completed assembly about two years ago.

The owner’s objective was to create a lightweight tribute to earlier cars with the strength and reliability of the later versions of the 911 series. Brickhouse in Tempe Arizona performed the complete bare-metal refinish on the body. First, the tub was stripped to bare metal and evaluated. No rust was found. Following metal prep work, the car was sealed, placed in heavy primer, and then extensively blocked to ensure laser-straight bodywork and excellent gaps throughout. The car was finished in Maritime Blue and then moved on to the assembly process.

Das Fahrzeug im Detail

A 1985 3.2 Carrera drivetrain and complete suspension system were sourced for the build. The engine was completely disassembled and rebuilt increasing displacement to 3.4 liters. A set of 964 cams were installed, and fueling is provided by PMO carburetors. All of the engine hardware was re-plated in the factory-correct finishes. The fan was media blasted, coated, and looks stunning. The engine wears stainless Dansk heater boxes and a stainless steel muffler that provides a spectacular tone. The late 915 gearbox with an external oil cooler was rebuilt by Arizona Transaxle.

Assembly on this 911 was carried out by Deluxe Customs with outstanding fit and attention to detail. All rubber trim is new. All instrumentation was rebuilt by Palo Alto Speedometer, and the odometer was reset to zero shortly after the car’s final assembly. Exterior modifications include modified factory bumpers front and rear, 935 style mirrors, and a set of Fikse wheels. The exterior door handles were also drilled to match the window cranks and finished in black. A factory whale tale completes the aesthetic.

Before the installation of interior trim work, the owner installed RoadKill sound deadening on the floors and rear package shelf. The spartan interior is trimmed in 1853 Cobalt Blue Porsche vinyl including the dash, RS door panels, seat inserts, rear seats, and package tray. Aluminum Speedster seats were sourced from Germany and installed for the build, which are trimmed in Cobalt Blue with color-matched Maritime Blue risers. The headliner is finished in Black PHL1 Porsche vinyl to factory standards. Backdating elements on the build include installation of pop-out rear quarter windows, manual windows, regulators, and door locks. A 3.8 RS steering wheel, aluminum harness bar, and Corbeau 4-point harnesses round out the interior. The ignition system lock was rebuilt and multiple keys are included. This Outlaw also has a fully electric air conditioning system from Classic Retrofit that is installed in the smuggler’s box and nearly invisible. A discrete A/C button is hidden on the dash to the right of the steering column.

This 911 Outlaw is a dream to drive. The car starts effortlessly both cold and hot, makes outstanding power through the range, and is set up to offer go-kart level handling. The chassis benefits from a detailed corner balance and weight transfers beautifully while also retaining the damping needed to tackle harsher tarmac with ease.

If you are in the market for a no-expense-spared custom-built 911 in a wonderful color combination that’s sole intention is to provide an engaging and visceral experience, this is a must-consider example. While not restored by CPR, this 911 represents the same level of quality and attention to detail for which we are known. Having traveled less than 700 miles since completion, this 911 needs nothing to be driven, shown, and enjoyed immediately. Don’t miss this unique Maritime Blue Hot Rod!
