What does it take to build such a name? For starters, terrifyingly tasty looks. The 930 Turbo is strikingly set, with its extremely knocked out wheel arches cum hips. That great big „tea tray“ rear spoiler (a raised „whale tail“ after placement of the intercooler) also does a lot, of course, and is inextricably linked to the blown German.
The contrast with the standard slim 911 profile, makes the most explosive version of the iconic „Elfer“ all the more desirable. And the 1st owner had done his best to pack it all discreetly in understated silver, including black (original!) leather interior. Sorry, didn’t work out. It turns out to be a „mission impossible“.
Originally the car was bought in 1979 in Bonn. The ultimate 70s supercar stayed loyal to its homeland for a long time; here it drove most of the kilometres. After that France seemed to be the promised country, but that marriage failed prematurely. In 2005 the widowmaker found a new home in the Netherlands. At the 3rd and (so far) last owner the Turbo clearly found more peace and quiet: in the past 16 years only 7,000 kilometres have been added to the previous 140,000. A reliable Porsche specialist recently carried out the maintenance. Fearing that the blood-curdling 911 might live up to its nickname…?
It wouldn’t have been the engine’s fault. Or rather… The fact is that releasing 300 bhp on the rear wheels of a car where the centre of gravity is literally in the back is asking for trouble. This in combination with the short wheelbase, makes that even the experienced driver has his or her hands full with this fast Porsche. The Turbo has an oversteering character; they call it „loos tail“ in beautiful English. A wagging ass in flat Dutch.
Porsche turned out not to be sensitive to the widowmaker’s reputation. In 1978 the contents grew from 3 to 3.3 litres in the 6-cylinder boxer. Power and torque (432 Nm) grew along with it, partly thanks to the use of an air-to-air intercooler. 0-100 km/h within 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h is still impressive. But it’s the handling that really scares the shit out of you. So if you get it on your hips during a test drive, you’ve been warned…
Points of attention: none known. Technically in excellent and original condition. The turbo has been technically checked and the engine has been recalibrated. Optically perfect. The car has recently been completely repainted in the matching colour. This is really phen-om-e-needle done. Also all the rubbers have been replaced. The car is hard and the fits are perfect.
Inspection: of course every inspection is allowed, so that purchase can be made with 100% certainty. Also possible after a test drive.
Financing: financial lease possible. I work closely with recognised leasing parties and will be happy to advise you.
Insurance: if desired, we can also provide tailor-made insurance.
