This Porsche 914 was first delivered to Florida in 1973 and equipped with a 1.7 liter engine.
In 2005 the Porsche was exported from the United States to the United Kingdom and became in possession of a Porsche enthusiast who cherished it for many years. Back in those days this new owner upgraded the car with the current 2.0-liter engine that originally dates back to 1975 (engine code GC-000005) and had 88 BHP. It’s crankshaft was specially ground and balanced which made the engine eminently suitable for the use with carburetors. In the current set-up the engine is still equipped with two double Weber IDF40 carburetors. By the use of special pistons (type Keith Black 96 mm.) the stroke volume was increased to 2,056 cc. On top of that original 2.0 liter cylinder heads were fitted and these remain still in an excellent condition nowadays. These cylinder heads come with larger intake and exhaust valves. A lighter flywheel has been fitted to the car. As a result of these modifications this 914 drives very smoothly and sporty. The engine develops it’s power already in a relatively low rpm range.
In 2018 the British Porsche enthusiast sold his beloved 914 to a Dutch Porsche enthusiast who had the intention of driving classic rallies with it. Various repairs were made to the bodywork and the car was given a completely new paint job in the same color as it left the factory (color code L96D, silver gray metallic). Due to unforeseen circumstances the car was never used to drive classic rallies and was left standing in the garage. In 2020 the car passed to its next Dutch owner. Apart from a full service this owner also fitted the car with new rear tires. Later that year the car was traded in for a Porsche 911. In 2021 the Porsche 914 ended up with its last owner who owned it until his passing last November.
This last owner put his heart and soul into the car and made many improvements with the intent to get the car back to concourse condition. All improvements that have been made are photo documented. A detailed description of improvements repairs and restorations made is available as well as all the invoices associated with them.
Carefully cherished for many years this Porsche 914 is looking for a new owner who wants to enjoy it as much as all the previous owners who restored this wonderful driver’s car to its glory days.
