1998 was the last year of the iconic air cooled engine and brought to a close what many purist believe the last true 911’s. The 993 generation 911 is the most technically advanced of the production air cooled cars and 1996 through 1998 incorporated Porsche genius Vario Ram intake system which added and additional 14 hp to the 3.6 litre engine of earlier 993’s.
