At the dawn of the 2000s, the Porsche 911 entered the modern era with its 996 generation. Unveiled with great fanfare alongside the Boxster, this 911 caused a lot of ink to flow. As it celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary, it remains a particularly accessible Porsche model in 2022, even if its rating is rising.
Although decried during the first years of its life by Porsche drivers from the “air cooled” generation, it is now experiencing its hours of glory. Indeed, although different from the older generations of 911 both in general design and in terms of design, the 996 in all its variations is indeed a 911.
