The GT4 was manufactured in 2015 with a built date in July, and was first registered in December of that year. It was purchased by the vendor two years ago, in 2018, and has been conscientiously cared for during their ownership.
Its factory Sapphire Blue paint finish is in good condition and was fully ceramic coated under the current owner’s care. Usual wear and tear, such as stone chips on the bonnet and side air intake scoops, is evident and there is a chip on the passenger-side front headlight. The damaged part is on back order with Porsche, and the vendor has confirmed that they fit it free of charge for the next owner as soon as it arrives.
The interior is in similarly good condition, showing only minor signs of use. There are slight creases in the leather of the side bolsters of the driver’s seat, but otherwise the leather and Alcantara is in excellent order. Factory-fitted equipment includes the hard-shell sport seats, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and PCM with satellite navigation. All controls are in good working order, including the media head unit.
Under the vendor’s care, the Cayman has been regularly serviced, with the most recent being in May of 2020 when Porsche Centre Brisbane performed a full service including an engine oil and filter change as well as a flush of the brake fluid. Prior to that, other recent services were performed by Porsche Centre Melbourne in May 2018 and 2019.
The Fabspeed GT450 Race Performance Package comprises an upgraded valvetronic exhaust system, race exhaust headers, an IPD competition plenum package, and high-performance BMC F1 air filters. It also comes with a Cobb Accessport tuner, and in this case was given a custom tune through that hardware by GT Auto Garage in Slacks Creek.
The vendor states that the tyres are in used condition, but still have a decent amount of tread. The comprehensive service history, books and tow keys are included in the sale of the car.
When Porsche put the already highly acclaimed Cayman through the ‘GT model’ development programme, the result was a remarkable car with a truly special driving experience. Well-cared for and with a discerning powertrain upgrade, this Porsche 981 Cayman GT4 is a superb example of the breed, and one which will surely put a big smile on its new owner’s face, whether they choose to relish it on the road or put it through its paces on track.
