The car is built to take part in motorsport events, but is also very suitable for a Sunday drive.
With the bucket seats, the fire extinguisher, the roll cage, emergency stop switches and the 4-point seat belts, a lot of safety has been incorporated into the vehicle.
The fuel system has been converted from the mechanical fuel pump to two electric fuel pumps including DC/DC converter, which you can see in the pictures in the trunk between the safety tank and the spare wheel. If you are interested, you can also purchase the original 356 fuel tank.
The power supply has been converted to 12 volts. All side windows have been replaced with Makrolon and plastic window frames have been installed in the doors.
The steering ratio has been adjusted, making the vehicle easier to handle with slightly fewer turns of the steering wheel and enabling sportier changes of direction.
The engine has noticeably more torque and power than the standard version and was built by the renowned company Khausen Classic Race Cars.
In our opinion, all components, additional instruments and modifications to the vehicle were installed with technical expertise and to a high standard of quality.
We cannot comment on the driving behavior on the racetrack, but we would like to add that the maintenance drives that we regularly complete on the country roads of Schleswig-Holstein indicate an extremely capable and fast vehicle. The chassis makes a very firm impression, making the vehicle very controllable on the road. The brakes, gearbox and clutch operate smoothly and there are no signs of wear and tear on any of the components.
Should the vehicle be prepared for motorsport use again, I would like to briefly mention that the tires, seat belts and safety tank have exceeded their service life and would have to be replaced for acceptance.
All in all, this 356 is a real eye-catcher with potent driving characteristics and a lot of high-quality components.
