The Porsche 356 is the first production model from Porsche AG. Ferry Porsche's vision was to build the perfect sports car that combines both sportiness and comfort. In 1948 the time had come and the first Porsche 356 was completed. The Porsche 356 was built for over 17 years and over 76,000 vehicles were built during this time. This sports car has been continuously developed over the years so that this series can be divided into four different development stages. The first series, also known as the original model, was produced between 1948 and 1955 and could be ordered as a Coupé, Cabriolet and Speedster. In addition, you could choose between four different engine variants. The next development stage was produced between 1955 and 1959 and could also be ordered as a coupé, convertible and Speedster, but a convertible D and a model with hardtop were also added. The Porsche 356 A was significantly more agile and also more comfortable than its predecessor. The subsequent expansion stage, the Porsche 356 B, was built between 1959 and 1963. This differed mainly in the higher mounted headlights and a steeper front line on the front fenders. Above all, the brake cooling has been technically improved in order to prevent the drum brakes from overheating. The Porsche 356 C was presented in 1963 as the end of the Porsche 356 model series. This sports car already had some technical innovations such as brake discs on all four wheels. These developments should later find their way into the Porsche 911.
This Porsche 356 BT5 Super 90 was registered for the first time in the United States of America on December 31, 2960. There the coupé has been meticulously maintained for over 48 years and received the authenticity certificate from the president and CAEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc., which is in the original. After Europe, the Porsche finally came to Europe in 2008. A Porsche collector from Denmark imported the sports car and had it converted for Danish registration in 2010 for the equivalent of € 5,000. In addition, customer service was carried out at the Porsche Center Sjaelland (Denmark). The Porsche 356 BT5 Super 90 received another service a year later in the same Porsche Center.
The Porsche came to its current owner in Germany in 2014 via a Danish classic car dealer. He decided to have the complete vehicle checked by a well-known Porsche specialist and to carry out all necessary service work. The owner invested a total of almost € 6,000 in the vehicle, whereby the perfect vehicle paintwork and the entire look were not affected. Since the owner always wanted the vehicle to be perfect, a complete engine overhaul was carried out at the Porsche Center in Reutlingen in 2017. In the end, € 18,000 was paid, of which, of course, as well as all maintenance work in previous years, all invoices are available. A year later, the brake cylinder including the entire brake system was repaired so that this original drum brake system works perfectly. This cost € 1,200. Thus, a total of over € 25,000 has been invested in the technology of the rare Porsche 356 BT5 Super 90 in recent years, which means that the vehicle is in perfect condition.
The performance of the Porsche 356 BT5 Super 90 was almost comparable to that of the Porsche 356 Carrera models. The engine, uprated to 90 hp, helped the sports car to a top speed of 190 km / h. In addition to the performance, the Super 90 is a very sought-after model due to the small number of units that will continue to increase in value in the future. The vehicle on offer is in perfect condition, both visually and technically.
The Porsche 356 BT5 Super 90 was fitted with sports seats and four-point seat belts for reasons of safety. Furthermore, a smaller wooden steering wheel was installed that makes handling the sports car easier. Of course, all original parts such as seats, steering wheel, etc. are available and can be retrofitted without leaving any residue.
