According to the book by Jürgen Barth and Gustav Büsing, only 353 of the Porsche 356 1300 Coupé with split disc offered here were built in 1951 and it is still one of the first 1000 Porsches ever built. Very few of these early Porsches have survived to this day.
The 1.3L 4-cylinder boxer engine has an output of 32 kW / 44 hp.
This very early example of the 356 1300 Coupé was delivered and registered on October 12, 1951 at the Swiss Volkswagen and Porsche dealer Neue AMAG (Automobil- und Motoren AG) in Bad Schinznach in the color radium green (510).
The vehicle changed hands for the first time in August 1960, but it remained in Switzerland. In 2011 the vehicle was sold to Italy and placed in a collection. During this time an extensive restoration of the vehicle was carried out in Italy.
After three years, the car changed hands for the last time and has been owned by a car enthusiast in Germany ever since. There is also a report on the vehicle from this year. In 2014 the original unsynchronized gearbox was exchanged for a synchronized NOS gearbox. However, the original gearbox is included with the vehicle.
As part of the restoration, the vehicle was completely dismantled, except for the body shell, and all signs of corrosion were removed. The body was then completely painted in the original radium green color. The underside of the vehicle is painted black - as in the original condition. All chrome parts have also been completely reworked and chrome-plated. As part of the restoration, all rubber seals were also replaced.
The electrical system has also been completely revised. New cables were laid, the lighting parts were revised and partially replaced by replicas. The very rare Veigel instruments (speedometer and rev counter) have also been completely redesigned.
The interior of the vehicle has also been completely redesigned. The covers used for door panels, seat panels and carpeting correspond to the original of the vehicle. The original wooden strips on the windows were sanded and given a high-gloss finish.
The mechanical part of the vehicle was also dismantled as part of the restoration. The axles have been completely revised, the axle parts have been painted as individual parts, all wear parts have been replaced and four new Koni shock absorbers have been installed. The brake system was also completely dismantled. New brake lines were laid - with new brake and master cylinders, new documents and revised brake drums. The engine is the original engine type 506 and thus a 1300 engine, which was only used by Porsche in this type designation in the period 1951-1952.
The car can be viewed at any time by arrangement with us in 33415 Verl. A lifting platform is of course available to you for this.
