The late Pre-A still has many nice details, such as the buckle washer introduced in 1952.
The car was exported to the USA at a later date. One of the previous owners wrote down the history and said that the car was shipped to the USA by an officer of the US Army as early as the 1960s. The officer may even have been the first owner and has traveled Europe with the car, which the service in Stuttgart would show.
In 1975 Porsche fan Ray Hanson from Bremerton in Washington state bought it. The car had meanwhile been repainted in orange and the engine and transmission were removed.
During the new owner's one-year stay abroad, the car was restored to roadworthy condition by a German mechanic in Bremerton, Helmut's Auto-Repair. At that time, a 1600 engine with 75 hp was installed.
After 7 years he sold it in 1982 to Mr. Kirk Coughlin in Portland, further south.
He kept the car for many years and had the car painted in its current color and restored the body, gearbox and interior.
Interestingly, Ray Hanson bought the car back in 1998 and only sold it 15 years later in 2013 to the last owner in the US: Jonathan Schneiderman of Santa Cruz, California.
He owned the car for a year before he sold it to a well-known Porsche engine specialist in Germany.
The current owner acquired the vehicle from this specialist in 2015 and had Ferdinand Kühn, Freudenberg, build a new type of 1500 engine of the type 546/2 and install it in the vehicle. In addition, 5,182 euros were invested in the car's technology.
The car can be viewed by arrangement. A lifting platform is of course also available for you.
