Buy 1965 Porsche 911 2.0 in slate gray!

In the case of cars, it is usually the case that the very first, pure models and the very last fully developed models are the most sought-after and therefore the most valuable.

This is particularly true of the iconic Porsche 911. This 911 2.0 is such a very early model, which was delivered in Fürth in May 1965, i.e. before the 1965 factory holidays.

The vehicle in detail

• Very early model before the 1965 factory break
• German first delivery
• Perfect condition thanks to complete restoration by German specialist companies
• Extensive restoration documentation available
• Original color combination slate gray / light brown

It was delivered by the then Porsche dealer Krauss in Nuremberg to a VW and Porsche dealership in Fürth. The car was probably used there as a demonstration car and by the management, because the car remained in Krauss' service for the next 2 years and covered over 18,000 km in that time. Then the car was sold to an entrepreneur from Bielefeld. The last inspection noted directly by Porsche on the Kardex took place on May 9, 1967 at 24,736 km.

Interestingly, the car was later sold to Finland. When exactly this happened cannot be traced back on the basis of the documents available. In June 2013 the vehicle was re-imported from Finland and sold to the current owner.

He then had the car extensively restored and only worked with experienced restoration companies in Germany who specialize in Porsche.

The very early 911 have a very special charm due to many beautiful details that have been lost in the course of development. In particular, the vehicles that were built before the 1965 factory break differ greatly from the later models.

In the course of the restoration, special emphasis was placed on preserving precisely these significant differences. These include:

  • 911 lettering on the rear is applied diagonally
  • The front horn grilles are attached with 4 screws
  • Positioning of the washer fluid reservoir in the fender
  • no weights in the bumpers to increase driving stability (only from No. 301 340)
  • Shock absorber fixed centrally in the dome with a screw
  • Solex carburetor system
  • Wooden steering wheel for 1964 and 1965
  • Fine wood application on the dashboard
  • Cuff for gear lever made of leather

The complete restoration of the vehicle in the period from 04/2014 to 06/2016 was completely accompanied and documented by a vehicle expert. Following the work, of course, the acceptance as a vintage car according to §23 StVZO took place.

The restoration was extremely extensive:

First, the body was stripped of paint and extensively restored. After the restoration work, the body was measured. There were no deviations from the factory default. After the work on the body, it was completely treated with a protective primer.

The entire interior has also been completely renewed and the seats have been reupholstered in the original light brown color.

The entire technology on the vehicle has also been overhauled and the wiring harness, including electrics, and the signaling devices have also been renewed.

The engine of the vehicle has been professionally rebuilt and entirely with new parts (original Porsche parts). All wear parts such as bearings, timing chains, seals, Simmerrings and piston rings have been renewed. The engine is not the first original engine, but an identical engine from 1965.

The transmission has also been completely overhauled.

Front axle and rear axle have been overhauled and are in very good condition. All bearings and bushings have been replaced with new parts. All rubber parts are like new.

The braking system has been completely renewed. All hydraulic lines were renewed, the main brake cylinder as well as the brake calipers and wheel brake cylinders were overhauled.

The odometer was zeroed after the restoration and currently shows a reading of 2,544 km.

In total, this vehicle was restored for around € 195,000. This does not include the purchase price for the car.

The overall condition is exceptionally good and we are pleased to be able to offer you a car of this quality, because these are very rare.

The car can be viewed by us by arrangement. A lifting platform is of course also available for you.
