By any inspection this car is new, every single component has been refurbished or replaced with the best quality parts available. This work is supported by reams of receipts and hundreds of images. All subcontractors are recognized marque specialists.
Nothing has been reinstalled unless it has been completely refurbished. Typically, this would involve chemical cleaning, zinc plating, polishing, anodizing, chrome plating and powder coating. New fasteners have been used virtually throughout.
The all-steel bodyshell was detailed to 1972 appearance with new Porsche panels before stone chip and paint preparation. New green tinted glass and rubber seals throughout (original opening rear quarterlights) All the original door window frames were stripped, polished and re-anodized, door locks and internal mechs were dismantled, zinc plated and re-assembled, one of the window motors was replaced new. Correct bumper and sill brightwork, new front head and sidelights complete and new horn grilles.
The massive specification includes a new wiring harness, rear control panel and main fuse board supplied by Kroon in the Netherlands. Rebuilt alternator, new horns. Refurbished or replaced components include foot pedals, windscreen wiper motor and mechanism, wiper arms and blades, washer fluid bottle, pump, and hoses. Heater motor, heater air hoses and valves. Handbrake lever mechanism including hand throttle and heater valve controls. All dashboard instruments cleaned and re-assembled with new glass including bespoke clock and Rennsport billet alloy heater control panel and full set of dashboard switch knobs.
Ignition controls were supplied by Classic Retrofit including uprated CDI and coil. A 123ignition systems distributer features wireless tuning and Bluetooth integration via a mobile app with immobiliser. Magnacore HT leads and caps.
BRAKES, SUSPENSION & STEERING
New brake pipes and hoses, new discs, and front calipers, refurbished rear calipers and handbrakes, all new pads and shoes. New Bilstein front struts and rear shock absorbers, rebuilt ZF steering rack, uprated turbo tie rods and new anti-roll bars and links. All wheel bearings, seals, poly bushes and drive shafts are new.
ENGINE & GEARBOX
Autofarm were instructed to rebuild the engine and gearbox, full detailed receipts will be supplied. The work featured shuffle-pinning the magnesium crankcases, fitting six new Nickies Cylinders and JE pistons and new S camshafts, the heads were fully rebuilt with new valves, seats and guides. Rolling road tune indicates 210 bhp.
The engine tinware is powder coated and new engine and gearbox mounts were used. The gearbox was totally overhauled and uprated with a new limited slip differential and a new Sachs clutch and cable. The exhaust uses SSI headers and 60mm bore silencer.
A new fuel system has been installed including an 80-litre tank, new Bosch pump, Porsche hoses including Aeroquip hoses and fittings to the new PMO carburetors. Watershield air cleaners and throttle controls are new.
The cockpit has been sound-deadened and a new headlining fitted with new sunshades, rear-view mirror, new interior, and glovebox lamps.
A complete bespoke leather interior was installed by Prototrim (contractors to Princess Yachts) the work features Recaro Sportster CS reclining bucket seats. Rennsport pedals, passenger footrest and front carpet protectors. New seat belts and Porsche Classic Radio/Satnav unit.
Externally the car features correct original 930 Turbo Fuchs alloys (8 & 7 inch) fitted with new Pirelli P600 N rated tyres and a space saver spare.
Presented with road test miles completed, a full suspension and geometry check by recognized Porsche specialists CentreGravity, a unique prefix 1972 registration, Porsche letter of authenticity and UK MOT.
