A story about passion
The purchase of a Porsche 911 Indisch Rot 3.2 from 1984 in 2007 was the start of a major renovation project that lasted 10 years. This is the story about the intense love for a sports car and a true lifetime achievement, the owners’ passion and willpower to rebuild the car as his Signal Orange legacy.
With the keenest eye for detail the owner meticulously figured out a plan to turn the car into a Porsche that’s fit for a racing circuit and with added comfort for a smoother ride on the motorway. Both top speed and ultimate road handling are combined in a unique seventies design.
The experienced owner began restoring and replacing parts for the Porsche in collaboration with the renowned Schmidt-Oss team of specialized Porsche mechanics which completed the technical renovations.
The list of alterations and improvements -see details below- is quite impressive to say the least. From chassis to engine and paint: the car had a complete overhaul. The engine of the Carrera is equipped with double ignition. The clutch has been replaced by a sports version. And with the strut bridge, the car steers tight and provides plenty of comfort on public roads.
Once the technical renovation was completed the owner knew the project was not finished yet and continued figuring out a way to express his creative style even more and turn the car into an eye catching object. Looking to add even more character to the car he arranged a series of meetings with a group of renowned Dutch Formula 1 drivers.
This resulted in the meeting of six former F1 drivers and the current World Champion, Max Verstappen. Gijs van Lennep, Jan Lammers, Guido van de Garde, Michael Bleekemolen, Robert Doornbos and Max Verstappen all signed the underside of the front bonnet. This poignant finishing touch underlines the completion of the car.
A ten year journey had come to an end resulting in a stylish, top notch, unique, up to speed and simply beautiful 911. The time is now to pass on this remarkable legacy.
We cherish the memories of this story about a man’s big passion and journey to rebuild his Porsche 911. From here it is on us to find a new owner equally passionate about this Signal Orange 3.2 Porsche 911.
