This 1987 Carrera convertible is still very original with a number of factory stickers still present and is only one of 2653 examples produced in 1987. As the car has been in storage since 2006, we had conducted a full mechanical and technical review (recent detailed invoices totalling more than 24,000€ are available). The original 3.2 engine has been completely rebuild with pistons being refurbished, all rods replaced and new oil-lines and gaskets were installed (more than 50 pictures of the rebuild are available). Furthermore, a new battery was placed, all brake callipers rebuild, with new disc brakes and 4 new Continental tyres. A new hood has been installed as the rear window had become ‘foggy’; since we were not sure about the overall waterproofness of the hood, we decided to have a completely new one installed. The exterior has been fully detailed and we gave the 911 a European look by installing the small bumper guards. The paint shows some minor signs of usage in a couple of spots but we have brought this car up to the level of a fantastic drivers car.
The previous owner did not keep a detailed service history, but the invoices of the work we had performed tell it all. The carfax shows an odometer issue in 1990; so very early in its life. We believe the underlying cause may have been the odometer been broken at that moment. The rest of the carfax is very clean with a very consistent mileage reported for the past 27 years.
