The 911 Carrera 3.2 brought Porsche out of the financial abyss. Having resisted the attacks of competitors and front-engine Porsches, this pure and hard sports car distills authentic sensations today sought after by nostalgics of the 80s and other lovers of Youngtimers.
Aesthetically, the look of the Carrera 3.2L has not evolved from the last 911 SC and remains typical of the “G type” with its famous bumper gussets. Available as a coupe, convertible and Targa, it is only through a few details that we can distinguish the two models: the radio antenna is now integrated into the windshield, a new front spoiler incorporating fog lights makes its appearance.
The 15″ aluminum wheels are standard and a Carrera logo is mounted on the engine cover. The Fuchs wheels were introduced in 1966 with the 911S and are still available as an option with a diameter of 15 or 16″. An option that, like the 930’s spoiler, is very successful and therefore very lucrative for the brand.
More powerful and torquey than the SC, the 911 Carrera 3.2 consumes 10% less fuel. Without appearing to be extremely sober, one can count on an average of 11-12 L/100 km, the large 80 L tank (85 L from 1985) ensuring a good autonomy.
