1989 PORSCHE 911 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION CABRIOLET

Celebrating the 25th year of the 911 and offering a suitable farewell to the legendary 3.2-liter Carrera flat-six, Porsche released 300 coupes and 200 cabriolets as special anniversary edition 911s. This example, chassis number ending in 170930, is an exceptional no-storied example that shows slightly more than 7,200. Its paint and interior are near perfect and the car presents itself as a sub-1000-mile 911. Thirty years after that Anniversary, one can tell this Cabrio has been meticulously maintained. It’s everything one would expect from a true time capsule.

The vehicle in detail

The G-Series 3.2 Carreras are wonderful 911s to drive in every way, from the purr of the 3.2 Carrera to the shifts with the buttery-smooth G50 gearbox. While the drive train and mechanicals are similar to the non-Special Edition examples, most of the upgrades were inside the cockpit and aesthetically they were a notch above the normal Carreras, as one would expect from a company celebrating a quarter-century of production of a single car model. Exclusive to the 25th Anniversary Carreras were options such as the Silk Grey Leather interior with black accents, color-to-match Fuchs wheels, a leather-upholstered center console, the outside air temperature gauge, a short shifter, CD holder, and of course the Anniversary badging depicting their rarity.

But disregard for one moment the fact that this is a special anniversary edition.  From the overall condition alone, this is one of the best Carreras we’ve been fortunate to have in a very long time. The next caretaker will be a very proud owner.
