This agile Porsche 911 Carrera WTL was delivered to the United States of America in 1983. In 2012, the original Porsche WTL Coupé, which had always been well maintained and in very good condition, was sold to Germany and continues to be cared for by a passionate Porsche driver.
Since then, the vehicle has only been driven a few km and that only in good weather conditions. The Porsche 911 is accident-free. Despite such exemplary care, it was inevitable that the Porsche got a new paint job about 10,000 km ago.
The Carrera series was built from 1983 to 1989. The customer could order the Turbo body from the factory (order code M491).
The WTL not only had the body of the Turbo but also the chassis and the brakes. However, only the naturally aspirated engine with 217 hp (as here) controlled cat or 231 hp uncontrolled cat was installed.
The customer had to dig deep into their pockets for this. In the first model year 1983 (like this Porsche) the widening cost an extra 24,900 DM. In the last year of manufacture, 1989, it cost almost 30,000 DM. In comparison, a 1984 VW Golf 2 cost around 18,000 DM.
