Porsche 911 2.4E for sale!
The example we present to you was put on the road for the first time in September 1973, the second and last year of production of the 2.4E.
Delivered new in Denver, Colorado, it was always maintained by the Porsche Garage in Boulder, Colorado until 1981, as evidenced by the Maintenance Record stamps. The car then arrived at its second owner in the neighboring state of Kansas, where the car remained until 2003. The car arrived in Belgium in 2008 where it had two successive owners who followed it on a regular basis and who used it as a leisure vehicle. On the mechanical side, the clutch and the flywheel were changed in 2008
The model that we are pleased to be able to present to you here is a 911 classic 2.4 E in its original “Gemini Blue” colour. The bodywork and paintwork are now in excellent condition, displaying a shine and a uniform color on all the panels after a complete painting carried out at the bodywork of the Orange Prince in 2017.
The panels are perfectly aligned and free of damage. However, we noticed the presence of a millimeter chip on the bottom of the front cover.
The front and rear bumpers are perfectly positioned.
The 4 rims are original (FUCHS) and are in perfect condition after restoration in November 2016.
The tires fitted to the vehicle are Pirelli P6000. These are in very good condition and show no signs of wear.
The interior appears to us to be in excellent condition. Indeed, the combined black leather and velvet upholstery has a beautiful patina of use without the leather being damaged or distended.
The legendary 5-meter dashboard is perfectly functional and in good condition. The same goes for the vinyl dashboard which does not show the slightest form of aging.
This copy is equipped with a Porsche Classic Communication Management radio which allows you to keep a retro look with current features such as making calls via Bluetooth or even using GPS.
When put on the bridge, we were able to observe a sound body and chassis with no trace of corrosion or visible deterioration.
During our road test, we did not find any lack of handling. The steering is incisive and the braking is constant and efficient in line with what is expected of a 911.
The technical control of the vehicle, carried out before the sale of the latter, only corroborated what is said above.
The mechanics work perfectly. Startup is instantaneous, with no spurious noises or fumes suggesting engine wear. The engine otherwise has a stable idle and shows no signs of overheating.
Once at temperature, the taking of turns is linear and without breaking the load letting the driver benefit from the vocalizations of the flat-6.
The 5-speed manual gearbox shifts up and down smoothly.
Invoices and service book visible on request.
The Porsche 911 is often considered the pinnacle of the classic 911. As soon as it was presented to the public, the 2.4 was offered with mechanical injection under the 2.4E badge. On the side of the bodywork, no major changes apart from the disappearance of the oil trap on the right rear wing. It is especially at the level of the running gear and the engine that the 911 still evolves a notch.
The 2.4 “Einspritzung”, for injection in German, sees its displacement increase to 2341cm³ to keep a power in line with what the competition of the time is doing.
