Porsche 911 Modified

Coupé, 1984

Highlights

  • widebody conversion
  • Resto-Mod by RS TEKNIK
  • purposeful soundtrack

Modifying 911s to enhance performance and appearance is nothing new, in fact Porsche themselves have been doing just that since their original sports purpose programme of the late 60s. Similarly, the history of customising and hot-rodding cars can be traced back even further than that.

`Restomod` is the term used today to best describe cars that have been modified and personalised to someone’s individual requirements and unlike original restorations where the provenance of the car is paramount and any restoration correctly executed to guarantee its value, with a Restomod, there are no rules.

When it comes to the 911, Singer is probably the most prolific, with its latest Restomod, the new DLS, costing a cool 1.8 million dollars and thats without a donor car! Even its original version is reputedly now circa 750000 dollars for a conversion, ensuring one wont be in every 911 enthusiast’s garage.

As a company, we also build bespoke 911s under our Autoart brand, however recognised a few years ago that there was another market for a cheaper product to allow enthusiasts to get on the restomod ladder. So, we created a series of fibreglass body panels under a new brand RS-Teknik, specifically for the 911SC and 3.2 Carrera models. These could be purchased separately, or as a complete kit allowing individuals to personalise their own 911.

This particular car is a mechanically sound 1984 3.2 Carrera with 78,000 miles from new, that has been fitted with a widebody conversion inspired by the 70s 911RSR.

Originally painted by Carrera bodyworks in Bury St Edmunds and finished in sport classic grey which is an original limited edition Porsche colour, it is fitted with black centred 17” split rim Fuchs inspired alloys, RUF CTR style door mirrors and soft tint side windows to give a subtle but aggressive look.

Inside, it is fitted with lightweight doorcards and carpet, an alcantara trimmed dashboard and door tops, wevo gearshift, momo steering wheel and adjustable OMP sports seats with Sabelt harnesses.

A sports exhaust and air filter provide circa 240BHP with a purposeful soundtrack too. This together with a 1000KG kerb weight, super grip from the wide 17” wheels ensure this 911 is a sharp performer that can embarrass more modern machinery on your favourite country road.

When the vehicle came to us to be sold, it became apparent that the B post and kidney bowl area needed attention on both sides (a common air cooled 911 fault) so these have been replaced and the car tidied up by us in the process at a cost just shy of £10,000.00. This ensures that this Restomod is now as solid as it is mechanically sound, looks immaculate, will be the envy of many and at a price that won’t have your wife questioning your sanity.

As with all of our classic Porsches, this 911 will be supplied fully prepared and warranted for total piece of mind.
