1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Safari

CPR Classic is delighted to offer this lovely 1988 Porsche 911 G50 Carrera Coupe that has been treated to an Overland Level 1 Conversion by Resolute Motorsports of Santa Rosa California. This stunning Safari 911 underwent a painstaking 18-month transformation utilizing a multitude of upgrades that have transformed this 911 into an incredibly capable off road machine.

The build began with an arrow straight and very nice driving 82,000 mile G50 Carrera as the donor vehicle.

This Safari 911 provides the best of all worlds in 911 ownership. The car drives wonderfully on the street and simply does not feel compromised on the pavement with the modifications it wears. It turns in with confidence, weight transfers beautifully and can still be driven in anger on the road with its all terrain tires. Exit the pavement and enter back gravel roads, the mountains or desert and this 911 will truly come alive. The suspension system will soak up ruts and rocks as you toss the car around with delight, and the installed hydraulic hand brake will allow you to place the car through corners with precision and confidence.

This is a 911 that can be used to go essentially anywhere and do anything. Drop the kids off at school and then a day full of errands? Check. A drive out to Ocotillo Wells and then 40 miles of round trip off-roading in the open desert to visit the world famous Pumpkin Patch? Check. A trip up to mammoth for a weekend of skiing and tearing up gravel roads in your 911? Check and Check. If you can think of it, this 911 can likely take you there. Everything from a weekend cars’ and coffee to a multi-day overlanding excursion, this 911 not only has you covered, but covered in comfort, speed and all around coolness.

Safari 911s have become outrageously popular today when they were considered sacrilege to build only a decade ago. Porsche has a storied rally history with the 911 and it is awesome to see Safari conversions being so welcomed and accepted in the community today. After a short time with the Safari that we currently have, we can assure the next lucky owner of this 911 that it will easily be the most fun you have had in the seat of a car.

This example has only traveled several hundred miles since completion and has hardly been put through its paces in the first 6 months of its life as a Safari Car. This car presents an opportunity for someone that would like a freshly built Safari 911 today without having to wait over a year for one of the Safari builders across the country to assemble a car for you. CPR hopes that this example will go on to an enthusiast that intends to use it to its fullest potential and thoroughly enjoy every offroad mile. Don’t miss this lovely Safari 911.
