1997 Porsche RHD 993 GT2 Clubsport clone!

This car was built from a matching numbers condition inspected RHD 993tt which was known to the owner for a significant number of years and was an excellent donor for the build.

The GT2 clone is an exact copy of the one and only factory Blutorange LHD factory built clubsport which is owned by an avid collector who was fully supportive of the build.

The history on the damage on the donor was back in 2004 the car suffered a very low impact to the front bumper and frunk floor on the Driver-side and the owner did not want the car repaired, the salvage value at the time was high so the insurance company paid out and the salvage was sold on with a Cat D marker the car was a very easy repair with a replacement front bumper and repairs to the frunk floor. Latter in life it was autolign inspected and the marker condition was changed from a “D” to condition inspected. Pictures of the original damage are available.

This is as close as you will ever get to factory RHD gt2 clubsport at an affordable cost which represents a fraction of the build cost. As with all tributes the end product is only ever as good as the base car allows it to be. All too often with the knowledge of pending and significant investment, a “cheaper” donor car is procured in the first instance and the project has its wings clipped before it gets off the ground….Not the case in this instance. An original panelled car with history from some of the more recognised Porsche restoration specialists tasked to turn that in to this. The build process was commissions with Heritage Autowerks who are well known for support and maintenance with some truly eclectic cars and a wealth of expertise in the build process and well used to running and servicing genuine GT2’S

The costs associated with the above mentioned work are astronomical and invoice supported with the combined costs of the donor car and the commission works far exceeding the asking price. The car since build has seen very light use, with some continental touring and is offered at a fraction of the build cost To drive, the car is raw, exciting and very fast indeed but it is also manageable with great drivability.  With no carpets fitted there is quite a lot of interior drivetrain noise but it is perfectly manageable and adds to the raw experience of this wonderful and exhilarating car. The suspension is suited perfectly to A and B roads and as such it’s a pleasure to use and enjoy.
