The vehicle in detail

Grabbing the Momo Prototipo and sliding down into the corduroy sport seats feels so right; they hold you nice and firm, yet are comfortable and familiar. A REPA four-point harness holds you in place and just makes you feel at one with the road. Your navigator gets a Butlers lamp, additional rearview mirror and twin stop watches mounted to the dash for timing those tricky sections across the mountain pass. Like it’s slightly older sibling the 1967 911S—the 1968 911S also received the high-revving, 2.0 liter masterpiece that has gained followers across the globe. The transmission is very crisp making a believer out of anyone who questions the 901, and how capable it is compared to some of the newer options Porsche introduced in subsequent years. This particular vehicle won the prestigious “GT” badge, which is awarded annually at Treffen, to the cars that most represent the spirit of the R Gruppe “sports purpose” philosophy.
