The Porsche 924S Le Mans is a sports car from Porsche model year 1988. It is the second Le Mans series based on the Porsche 924. This time the basis is the Porsche 924S with a 2.5-liter Porsche four-cylinder. The power is 160 hp, exactly the same as the Porsche 944 of that time. Porsche built 480 “Sportliches Sondermodell” M-755 for Germany and the rest of the world. There were 313 black M-755 and 167 white. Only 37 black and 37 white for Great Britain and right-hand drive got the “Le Mans” lettering on the flanks, yet the whole series is so well known.
This so-called “Le Mans” differs from the normal ‘S’ due to the special gray upholstery. In the white, the covering was provided with an ocher yellow pinstripe, in the black one with a turquoise pinstripe. Other adjustments included a thick stabilizer front and rear, lowered chassis, Turbo seats, electrically operated windows and mirrors, Targa roof and slightly wider rear wheels with the same tire size as the front. In appearance, the British right-hand drive versions had Le Mans striping on the sides (yellow ocher for the white, turquoise for the black) and some phone wheels in body color with ocher or turquoise accents.
