The self presented is a 964 RS of June 1992. Delivered new in Germany, it is in France since 2000 . The current owner acquired this car in 2005 and has scrupulously made maintenance since.

The file is very complete with its maintenance booklet and numerous maintenance invoices , including all the annual revisions made over the last 15 years. Among the important works, the engine was deposited and opened in 2009 to 76,349 km including:
– change clutch, flywheel, self-locking revision,
– sealing,
– installation of reinforced valve springs / titanium cups,
– change bearings AV,
– ….
The car has since made 6,000 km and has been revised each year.  Note that for 14 years, this car is followed only by the same Porsche specialist recognized. Mechanically it is in perfect working order, the engine runs perfectly without any emission of abnormal noises. It is slightly prepared in mechanics with a hot film flowmeter kit (direct inlet, hot film flowmeter, …) and a Cup tube, which allows the car to develop about 300 hp.

In cosmetics, the car is in good condition. A veil of paint was made a few years ago. There is no evidence of accident or corrosion. The body carries some marks of gravelling on the front cover and the rear fenders and a small impact on the windshield. This car is equipped with carbon doors, significantly lighter than the original doors. The car was acquired in this configuration in 2005. The rims will be redone for sale, they were repainted in 2015, there was a reaction on the paint is not pretty.

The interior is in perfect condition. The carpets are impeccable, the leather seats not damaged. Note that a radio is installed in the car.

The car is complete with its magnesium rims, aluminum hood (with its label) . Note that the underbody fairing is present, often removed element or lost on the 964 RS.

This car has made the runway taxi club at the beginning of his “career”, fundamental vocation of a 964 RS … Since 2009, it is used mainly in ballad.

The vehicle in detail

The Porsche 911 (964) Carrera RS, succeeds after almost 20 years of waiting, to the legendary Carrera RS 2,7 of 1973. Designed for the private motor sport, it presents itself like the new fatal weapon of the amateurs of exits in club : all that is useless is removed, while the engine and chassis are optimized for a sporty use.

Externally, the Carrera RS, or more simply RS “92”, plays the card of sobriety, unlike its ancestor, the 2.7 RS 73 which sported bright colors raised with colored bands and a very characteristic fin. They both clearly reflect the state of mind of their generation. Among the visible modifications made to the 911 RS compared to the Carrera 2 which is used as a base, we first notice the magnesium wheels, 17 “in diameter, then the eye will stop at the lowered box (-40 mm) and the lightened rear bumper, with its side plate lighting as on the 965 Turbo and the absence of front fog lights, replaced by simple translucent covers.

Identified under the M64 / 03 type, the engine of the Carrera RS 3.6 reaches 325 Nm at 4,800 rpm, against 310 Nm for Carrera 2, and its data sheet reports 260 horses delivered at 6100 rpm, or 10 better than the Carrera 2. However, despite this gain in power that may seem modest, the engine of the Carrera RS is not really identical to that of the 964 Carrera 2 and weighs only 226 kg. We thus find differences in the game, a specific injection box (Bosh Motronic) with cut-off mode positioned above 7000 rpm.
