Offering here this well-sorted, limited production 2005 911 996 Turbo S, with fewer than 190 coupes paired with 6 speed manual transmissions delivered to the United States in the single year of production.

The car has undergone all major service, and has a history of ownership by Porsche enthusiasts and collectors, including the current owner who has a number of Turbo/Turbo S series models in his collection. The previous owner wrapped the entire car in XPel Ultimate PPF prior to trading the vehicle for a 991.2 GT3RS, and the warranty card is included with the sale.

The sale includes all documentation, service records, original window sticker, COA, Carfax, two keys, and the factory-optioned GT3 wheels with tires mounted (2019 date code) with fewer than 500 miles on them).

The vehicle in detail

Showing with just over 36,000 miles, this exquisite beauty has been well-maintained to the highest standard. The body and paint are all original, with no modifications, and it has never been tracked. All maintenance has been completed as recommended (records available). The entire car has been wrapped in Xpel Ultimate Paint Protection Film and it has been treated with a ceramic coating. In addition, the current owner (seller) swapped the factory-optioned GT3 wheels (a popular spec for many of these vahicles) for the series-correct GT Silver lightweight TurboTwist wheels, which supremely compliment and complete the raw beauty of this TurboS profile, as was intended.

To celebrate the end of the 996 series, in 2005 Porsche produced a limited number of Turbo S variants (only 598 coupes and 960 convertibles) that came standard with the X50 package, PCCB (Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes), a 6-disc cd changer, and classy aluminum gauges. The X50 package boosted horsepower to 450 with 457lb-ft of torque, up from 420hp in the base Turbo, and 444hp in the previous year X50 package. Most of the cars currently available are cabriolets (some coupes) with the Tiptronic (automatic) transmission, making this a rare opportunity to own one of fewer than 200 TOTAL manual coupes produced, even fewer in black/black.

Owning this car will be akin to owning a rare gem. Some might even call it a diamond in the rough, as purists and enthusiasts were not quick to adopt the design of the 996 series 911. However, the 996 series marks a new era in Porsche’s history, being the first water-cooled motor, mated to a body that was only slightly larger but with a chassis that was stiffer and still 180lbs lighter than the previous generation 993 thanks to the abundant use of high-strength steel.

This vehicle was sold new in November 2004, and owned for 11 years. In 2015, a PPI was conducted for the second owner (a local collector) by a shop in Virginia who gave it an excellent rating and performed a series of maintenance, including the 30k mile service, brake fluid flush, front and rear differential service, and full oil change. They also produced a DME report (1 of 2) which showed ZERO faults or overrevs.

The second owner kept the car for 5 ½ years. Regular maintenance was performed at Porsche St. Louis, reflected in the clean Carfax. The third buyer (also an avid Porsche enthusiast) conducted two safety inspections at Porsche Naples prior to purchasing it, which the car passed with no concerns noted.

The third owner kept the car only a few months, but during his ownership paid for a major service, including flushing all fluids, replacing spark plugs and coil packs, and had the car detailed, wrapped in ppf, and ceramic coated. He then traded the car to a dealer who sold it to the current owner

The current owner (also a Porsche collector with a few series TurboS in his stable) has only had the car a few months and has chosen not to put miles on it. He only buys the best examples and had his Porsche specialist conduct a full post-purchase inspection and confirmed the car was in top shape and needed nothing. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this incredible collector!

The sale includes:

  1. All original booklets
  2. Two keys
  3. Factory-optioned GT3 wheels with tires mounted (from 2019, Continental ExtremeContact with fewer than 500 miles)
