2012 Porsche 911 Targa 4S
This 2012 Porsche 911 Targa 4S is a late production example from the second generation of 997 dubbed .2. The 997.2 shares much of its driveline with the 991 that followed, but is highly sought after for being a smaller, more analog package than the later model (991).
This 911 Targa 4S was ordered new through Porsche of Kings Automall in Cincinnati by a longtime Porsche enthusiast who was looking for a summer road trip car. He went a little nuts with the ordering system and ended up spending $135,145 building this very special 911. He was the only owner and driver from delivery in 2011 until 2025 when he sold it with 96,000 miles on the odometer. He said Ohio winters can be long and although his Mercedes-Benz SUVs have always kept him safe, they aren’t much fun to drive when the pavement finally thaws out. So, in early 2011 he sat down at the Porsche dealer and painstakingly configured this car to be used in summer for driving back and forth between his home in Cincinnati and the home of his longtime girlfriend in Tennessee. He took delivery later that year and used the car as intended. He faithfully serviced the car and drove it back and forth to Tennessee as well as on other long road trips throughout his ownership that ended in May 2025 when he sold it to an employee of European Collectibles who also wanted a summer road trip car.
