Porsche 930 Turbo

The Porsche 930, also known as Porsche 911 Turbo, is a Porsche sports car that was produced from 1974 to 1989. When introduced, the 911 Turbo was the fastest mass-produced car in Germany. The Porsche 930 was the first production sports car with built-in turbocharger. The Porsche 930 was the top model from Porsche, which was initially offered only as a coupe, from 1987 in the body versions Targa and Cabriolet.

The third generation was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1990. In its first version, the new model retained the mechanical basis of its predecessor, the 930 3.3L. In addition, Porsche quickly increased the engine capacity and power. Until finally the highest performance level is reached with the 385 hp lightweight Turbo S.

Porsche 993 Turbo

Among enthusiasts, the Porsche 993 is often praised as holy grail of 911s. It’s the last aircooled 911 and the last more or less hand built 911 before Porsche optimized their production process. 993 Turbo and Turbo S combined, there were roughly 5.000 examples built. That combination magically attracts collectors and leads to quite steep price tags.

Porsche 996 Turbo

In total, roughly 20,500 996 Turbos were built (not counting the Turbo S models here). That number divides itself into around 17,000 996 Turbo Coupés and approximately 3,500 Cabriolets, which were available from 2004 onwards. That means, there’s plenty of choice in the second hand market. On the plus side, prices remained quite affordable. For the medium five figure sums, which you have to invest at least in Europe and the USA, you couldn’t get any car, offering more performance for the money. No other car in the segment “Porsche” offers so much performance for the money.

Porsche 997 Turbo

At first, we’ve got to differentiate between the 997.1 and the 997.2. The 997.1 Turbo Coupé was offered between June 2006 until the end of 2008. The cabriolet didn’t join the lineup until September 2007. Transmission wise, a six-speed manual and the automatic five-speed Tiptronic S were offered. While the 997.2 Carrera delivery started in July 2008, Turbo buyers had to wait until 2009 for the revised version. In its first year of production, the 997.2 Turbo was offered als a coupé and cabriolet, from 2010 onwards, the beefed up Turbo S joined the pack.
