First seen in 1966, the Targa represented an ingenious approach to the concept of a soft-top 911. Its design resulting from expected US safety legislation, the Targa sported a hefty roll-over bar to protect the occupants in the event of an inversion, plus removable roof and rear hood sections stowable in the boot. By 1969 a quieter and less leak-prone fixed glass rear window had replaced the soft rear hood, and the ever-popular Targa would continue in this form into the 1990s.

Its accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity reveals that this matching-numbers 911T Targa was originally finished in Blue Metallic with Houndstooth Check fabric interior and delivered with the following options: electric, heated, tinted glass windscreen; five-speed gearbox; comfort equipment; and special paint. This car also has the desirable Fuchs wheels. The aforementioned certificate was issued in 1993 by Porsche Cars North America Inc, to whom the 911 was delivered new; subsequently it was shipped to Germany and finally to Switzerland. Professionally restored in Europe in 2017, the Targa comes with related invoices detailing the works carried out and parts purchased (inspection recommended). Described by the vendor as in generally good condition throughout, the car also comes with its service booklet, a Swiss Carte Grise, and the aforementioned Certificate of Authenticity.
