It is therefore logical that the iconic sports car brand for both the coupé and the roadster withdrew the legendary 718 model designation in 2016. Exterior
The fact that they are proud of the return of the Porsche 718 in Zuffenhausen is apparent from the large, black lettering on the doors. The model name stands out all the more with a Modegrau bodywork as background. A unique Paint to Sample color. The light gray tint makes other details, including the 20-inch Carrera S wheels and distinctive air intakes behind the doors, all the more noticeable. And that is quite right, what they stand the 718 Cayman piece by piece amazing. Red brake calipers and a steeply sloping roofline, respectively, symbolize impressive braking techniques and advanced aerodynamics. Compared to its predecessors, who were simply called Cayman, the most recent model in extra powerful “S” version is very recognizable, but at the same time more exciting than ever. Something tells us that Porsche intended it exactly that way…

Interior
The cockpit of the 718 Cayman S is also nice on the retina. With black leather, Alcantara, silver stitching and many aluminum accents. The latter should emphasize the high-tech DNA of this Porsche, although it is also very comfortable to stay behind the GT Sport steering wheel. The clock in the middle of the dashboard is of course part of the Sport Chrono fun package. A Light Design Pack provides a nice atmosphere in the cozy cabin of the sleek German, especially in the dark.

Options & extras
However, it soon becomes clear when the adaptive sports seats do their job that you are not just sitting in the Porsche 718 Cayman S just for fun. They are electrically adjustable and keep the driver + passenger perfectly in their grip as soon as the limit is reached. A warning signal for a completely different kind of limit is provided by Park Assist. The parking assistance system has sensors at the front and rear, plus a camera in front if you do not want to rely on the sounds blindly. The option list also includes: Porsche Connect Plus, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). More obvious, but no less useful, is the presence of Cruise Control.

Technique & performance
As far as we are concerned, the best options only come into their own on the road. That sports exhaust speaks for itself: the blown 2.5 liter boxer engine simply sounds a lot better. But the road holding of this 350 hp strong Cayman S is also just a step ahead of the rest. Thanks to Porsche Active Suspension Management, the modern interpretation of the historic 718 lies like a plank in curves – so tight, while never getting uncomfortable. The low center of gravity and the compact dimensions also help this game. In combination with the super-fast 7-speed PDK transmission including dual clutch, the Porsche 718 Cayman S sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, easily leaving its non-turbo predecessor behind. The top speed of 285 km/h is also higher. We’re on! And you?
