1991 Porsche 964 Retro Touring by Paul Stephens

Porsche specialist Paul Stephens has built a very limited number of Autoart Retro Touring models, the aim being to combine the pure and simple elegance of the original design with the performance, reliability, everyday usability and creature comforts of the 1990’s evolution of the 911. The 964 series model is obviously the best basis for this backdate, arguably the best built 911 version of all. This series combined the original tight cabin and tunnel headlight design with significant upgrades in every other area, not surprisingly this is the model chosen by Singer, the doyen of 911 specialist retro builds.

Each Retro Touring model was built according to the special wishes of the commissioning customer and hence each is unique. Following a complete rebuild of the body and componentry with many upgrades this car was finished in Slate Grey with a full leather interior in red, a striking combination that really suits the retro look. Completed to a high specification, this particular car features an uprated Tiptronic gearbox and cruise control for everyday urban usability. Additionally, a modern highly efficient air conditioning system has been fitted as has a set of bespoke build Fuchs design wheels, Porsche Classic Hi-fi system incorporating Bluetooth and modern security system.

This rare Retro Touring has clearly been carefully used since completion and remains in excellent order in all respects. A recent drive out of London confirms how well the car fulfils its roll, combining the everyday usability of a modern car whilst retaining the style and satisfaction that comes with classic Porsche motoring.
