1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3,0 Coupé in « Ice Green » for sale!

This example we offer for sale was delivered new to Italy in 1977 where it spent part of its life. It was then exported to the south of France and sold to the last owner in Calvi, Corsica.

It is presented here in a fantastic « Ice Green » metallic color with a very « seventies » black and orange leather/velvet interior. The car is of course « Matching Numbers », color, chassis, engine and gearbox. It was ordered with some factory options such as the 5 speed gearbox, rear wiper, Pioneer radio and 16′ Fuchs wheels. It will be delivered with the original service book, 2 keys, the complete tool kit and its history. This Porsche is still in French registration and has known only 4 different owners.

The Carrera 3.0 is a very rare Porsche and the worthy descendant of the emblematic 2.7 Carrera RS. It is very difficult to find a beautiful specimen like this one which is as beautiful in reality as in photo.

The Carrera 3.0 has a very special place in the history of the Porsche 911, as it combines elements from two of Porsche’s most legendary cars: the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS and the 1975 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0.
It was produced for only two years (1976 to 1977) and was only distributed in Europe. Only 1,473 cars were built in 1977 and they were the first fully galvanized bodies.
The Carrera 3.0 engine was essentially the 911 Turbo 2.994cc engine without the turbocharger.
Built before the ‘911 SC’, it had all the features of an ‘SC’ and much more.
It’s another drive with more power (200hp) and it’s 10% lighter.
It has a 6-bolt flywheel and the crankshaft of the legendary Carrera RS 73.

The Carrera 3.0 was to become the « Base » of all 911s developed until 1989, including the 911 SC and 3.2 Carrera.

The performance of the Carrera 3.0 is surprisingly similar to that of the famous Carrera RS of the early seventies and this is the last time Porsche will use the Carrera name until 1985.
