Le véhicule en détail

According to Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, 308283S completed assembly on May 29, 1967, equipped with a Webasto heater and finished in Polo red paint over Black leatherette upholstery. A Kardex copy indicates that the 911 was sold through MAHAG Porsche in Munich, where it was purchased by Gunther Freudenmann and was returned to the factory for service at least twice early in its life, with possession passing to B. Giovanni by the end of the decade.

The Porsche was later exported to the U.S., and by the 1990s, and was reportedly owned by an enthusiast who kept it for approximately 20 years. By 2013, the 911 was acquired by Edward Palmer of Camarillo, California, a marque specialist who began refurbishing the car and eventually passed the project on to noted enthusiast Brandon Gallagher who entrusted the remaining work to Kundensport of Oxnard, California. The intensive restoration continued over the next two years, including a rebuild of the original engine with high compression pistons, Biral cylinders, modified Solex cams, and an upgraded re-ground crankshaft for a little extra power, while maintaining factory appropriate appearances.

Period correct Slate Gray was applied to a beautifully straight body, while Autobahn Interiors of San Diego trimmed the cabin with proper black leatherette upholstery and pepita inserts for the captains chairs. Porsche wheel expert Harvey Weidman refinished the original Fuchs wheels, while The Polishing Shop in Oxnard re-chromed all the brightwork, and North Hollywood Speedometer rebuilt the instruments. Numerous correct chassis and trim pieces were sourced from notable local suppliers. $110,000 was invested with Kundensport with all accompanying receipts. A follow-up valve job was performed in June 2017 by specialist Burnham Performance of Camarillo and regular upkeep to follow.

The results as presented here are outstanding, both mechanically and cosmetically. The Porsche drives as it displays, whether touring or spirited sprints. With 680 miles recorded since restoration, abounding in attentive details, such as Porsche etched Sigla and Sekurit glass all-around, and Hella lens covers, clean and proper decals and plaques, Michelin XZX tires, Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio and 1968 Porsche Crested Hickok seat belts. All lights interior and exterior, instruments, electrical and safety equipment work as intended. The original Webasto heater, while restored, has been disconnected.

308283S is accompanied by an original 1967 911S Driver’s Manual in folio, 1968 Service Station book, complete period tool kit, jack, and matching spare tire assembly. Documented with Porsche COA, Kardex, and a substantial file of restoration invoices, this wonderful 911S is ready for marque events, display, or the open road – offering its next caretaker an authentic and hearty example of one of Stuttgart’s most desirable 911 models. Now available for worldwide purchase and delivery from our Houston, Texas showroom.
