Porsche 911 S

This 911 S is one of approximately 1,267 units manufactured for the 1968 model year and received minor detail changes as part of the A-Series technical update, including new door handles, thicker engine-cooling slats, and revised instrumentation. Finished in Polo Red (6802) over a stylish black leatherette and corduroy interior, the sole extra-cost feature was emergency blinkers. According to copies of factory and registration records on file, this car was delivered new to the Röttger dealership of Hagen, Germany, in May 1968, but has been registered in Portugal since 1976. Under current ownership, specialist workshop SportClasse in Lisbon, Portugal, completed a full photo-documented restoration of this 911 S in 2020 which included new paint, a reupholstered interior, and a rebuild of the original drivetrain.

In a period review, Road & Track magazine stated, “the 911S maintains all the great qualities of the 911 and adds to them in several areas … for the driver who really wants to get with it, however, the 911S is bound to be even more fun than the 911.”

Originally sold only in Rest of World markets and seldom offered for sale stateside, this well-restored, higher-performing S model is an enticing proposition.
