But, in the end, she also made one of Europe’s biggest steering wheel icons even better. The 911 got a rollbar, to be sold as a convertible in the States. This is how, in our opinion, the most beautiful 911 line was born.

Our Targa is one of them, which falls in the category ‘bought from an old lady’. Her first, and only owner is the daughter of a successful porcelain dealer from Belgium. She has always driven the Porsche, until about 15 years ago. Since then, the 911, together with the porcelain, has been in the closet. It’s an outdoor cabinet, because it has been given back to nature. However, all the original parts are present (targa roof, metal air filter housing, original headlights, speedster mirror and more holy-grail material…), this piece of Ferdinand’s legacy has only smiled for 70,000 kilometers, is still fully matching numbers and still has its original ‘blutorange’ paint.

The boxer engine is still running and the gearbox is shifting and clutching. Furthermore, everything needs to be kissed awake again. And to be honest, that extra buffer on the savings account, those clean fingernails and weekends off are totally overrated. This is much more fun. After restoration along with this story, this is one that you actually, no longer encounter.
