Le véhicule en détail

From the moment of its arrival in 1975, the Porsche 911 Turbo set a new benchmark in performance—not only for future 911s, but also the supercar genre as a whole. The first ever forced-induction variant launched to the market—the “930”-generation Turbo Carrera—was a true performance great, boasting a 260-horsepower 3.0-litre turbocharged flat-six engine, blistered rear arches accommodating wider wheels with fatter tyres, and the now legendary “whale tail” spoiler derived from the IROC racers.

Chassis ‘0598’ rolled out of the Zuffenhausen works in May 1976, destined for Porsche’s home market. Delivered new via Krauss of Nürnberg, the top-of-the-range 911 Turbo was specified in the striking combination of Black over Mustard Leather with contrasting Midnight Blue carpets and black headlining. Factory options included air conditioning, a limited-slip differential, a 180-mph speedometer, sunroof, and gold Fuchs alloy wheels, in addition to a Blaupunkt radio, bumper shocks, a passenger mirror, and rear fog light.

In current ownership this Porsche 911 Turbo was subject to significant restoration works at marque and model specialist Tuthill Porsche. Four detailed invoices accompany the history file, each issued in September 2019. The first amounts to £37,566 and covers the rebuild of the car’s original 3.0-litre engine, with dozens of components listed ranging from a full set of main bearings to pistons and ARP stud bolts. The second invoice for £37,954 outlines the replacement of countless components including brake callipers and discs, fuel lines, dampers, a carpet set, and refurbishment of the car’s Fuchs alloy wheels. A third invoice amounting to £28,002 attests to a comprehensive cosmetic refresh, and includes a new front valance, a full set of seals, and dozens of other components. Finally, the fourth invoice details a £4,673 rebuild of its four-speed gearbox. In total, more than £108,000 of restoration work was carried out at Tuthill Porsche.
Today, this beautifully presented Porsche 911 Turbo is finished in its correct Black paintwork, while its interior and Fuchs alloy wheels have been refinished in matching black. Deeply appealing in its new triple-black configuration, this well restored example of Porsche’s seminal 930-generation 911 wants for nothing more than an enthusiastic driver.
