In 1975, the Porsche 911 would be forever transformed as the first ever forced-induction variant was launched to the market: the “930”-generation Turbo Carrera. A true performance great, the car boasted a 260 PS 3.0-litre turbocharged flat-six engine, blistered rear arches accommodating wider wheels with fatter tyres, and the now legendary “whale tail” spoiler derived from the IROC racers.

This example was ordered on 27 February 1976, specified in Schwarz over Braunbeige leather with an electric sunroof, and destined for California, according to the accompanying factory build sheet. Chassis 00413 is said to have remained in the care of its first owner for 23 years before being sold locally in 1999. It is understood to have passed to a third Californian owner in 2002, prior to being exported to Norway in 2007 and finding a home with another Norwegian four years later. In 2015 it passed to the consigning owner and was imported to Denmark, where later that year the car underwent a bare-metal respray in Schwarz. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms that this car retains its matching-numbers chassis and engine.

Beautifully presented in its correct colour scheme, this early Turbo Carrera is a fine example of a landmark model—a milestone for both 911 development and the evolution of the supercar.
