Porsche introduced the 911 Turbo (Type 930) at the 1974 Frankfurt Motor Show, bringing turbocharging from the racetrack to the road. Defined by its wide fenders, luxurious cabin, and signature « whale tail, » it launched with a 3.0-liter flat-six and reinforced four-speed manual, making it among the world’s fastest cars. In 1978, displacement increased to 3.3 liters, featuring an intercooler for enhanced power and efficiency. Pulled from the U.S. in 1980 due to emissions, it returned in 1986 with a flourish and improved drivability and refinement. Car and Driver remarked, « Antics that would have spun you out before hardly faze it. The brakes are superb. »

As noted on its original window sticker, this 1987 911 Turbo Coupe was delivered to the U.S. and first sold through Pray Porsche of Greenwich, Connecticut. Finished in classic Grand Prix White—first introduced for the Carrera 2.7 RS—over a Black partial-leather interior, the car was optioned with a limited-slip differential, pushing the total price to nearly $61,000. It is furnished with service records dating back to 1986, which list the original delivery date as 7 November 1986. The Turbo remained in New England with regular but limited use through 2004, when it was acquired by the current caretaker, having covered a remarkably low 13,000 miles.

Today, this 911 Turbo remains in fantastic original condition, displaying just under 17,000 miles at the time of cataloging. Owned by enthusiasts since new with a clear preservation mindset, the car features desirable yet reversible updates that include Rest-of-World taillights, a stainless-steel OE Porsche muffler, Bosch H4 headlights, a rear fog light, and a 930S-style leather steering wheel.
