Few posters defined a generation of car-crazed youth like the one of the Porsche 930 Turbo airborne, all four wheels off the ground, with the caption: “One ride and you’ll understand why most rocket scientists are German.” That image wasn’t just marketing—it captured the raw excitement of Porsche’s flagship turbocharged machine.

Born from Porsche’s legendary racing pedigree, the 911 Turbo (internal code 930) debuted in 1975 and remained in production through 1989. By 1988, the 930 Turbo had matured into one of the fastest and most luxurious Porsches ever offered to the public. Its 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six engine produced 282 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, propelling the car from 0–60 mph in just 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 157 mph—figures that placed it at the forefront of the supercar world.
