The final year of Porsche’s seminal 930-generation Turbo was arguably one of the best, serving as a fitting swansong before the arrival of the new 964. The majority of 911 Turbo Coupés featured four-speed gearboxes, but those built to 1989 model-year specification—including the example offered—benefitted from the desirable Getrag G50 five-speed transaxle.
The car offered here was invoiced on 22 November 1988 and delivered new to the United States via the official Porsche dealer in San Rafael, California, finished in the attractive combination of Linen Grey Metallic over a Black leather interior. It was further specified with a limited-slip differential, four-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a short-shift gear lever, sunroof, and cassette radio with amplifier, while the rear luggage compartment was trimmed in black velour.

At some point the Porsche returned to Germany, where it was serviced by Porsche Centre Munich on 23 February 2012; the odometer was noted as reading 61,009 kilometres. Used sparingly since, the car displayed 66,872 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. The Porsche benefits from €3,000 of maintenance work in August 2023, and is accompanied by an owner’s manual, and warranty and service book.
With its attractive colour combination, fantastic overall condition, and desirable Getrag G50 transaxle, this 911 Turbo would make a fine addition to any collection of landmark Porsches.
