A classic that epitomizes the 911 for many, the 964 was born in Stuttgart from 1989 to 1995. Compared to its predecessor, the 964 was 85% different, featuring numerous modifications and improvements. Yet, it retained the raw 3.6-liter air-cooled boxer engine behind your back, known as the M64, a naturally aspirated force that any car enthusiast can’t help but start with a smile or a chuckle.
The 964 was significantly faster than its predecessor, initially available only in Carrera 4 from 1989. When all the technology caught up with the new power plant, the Carrera 2 was born—a lighter, rear-wheel-drive variant. Sounds like a perfect recipe for car enthusiasts, doesn’t it?
