This 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet WTL was delivered in November 1991 to its first owner in Germany through the dealer Automarkt Havemann Gmbh. Under the care of 3 owners, the car has lived in Italy since its acquisition by the second owner and remains registered in the country. Finished from the factory in Paint to Sample Lemonen Gleb or Lemon Yellow, this classic pastel yellow is the perfect complement to the wide-body 964 shape and is extremely uncommon in this generation of 911. This car sat essentially unused from 2008 until 2021, when it underwent restoration at Scartapatti Body Shop with invoices included. While being restored, the car received a new convertible soft top, along with new mechanisms to ensure that the power functionality works properly, and the air conditioning was also sorted and works well.

The interior is upholstered in black leather and was optioned from the factory with a pair of sports seats up font. These nicely bolstered chairs are in wonderful condition and show minimal signs of wear, even after nearly 35 years of use. Fitted with both power adjustability and heating, these seats offer the ultimate combination of holding you in on a windy road and being plenty comfortable for touring. The era-appropriate 4-spoke airbag steering wheel is fitted, but sitting behind it is a stunning set of gauges that have been color-matched to the body, with all of the backings in Lemonen Gleb.

Sitting out behind the passengers is a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated flat 6, rated at 247 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque. Although in modern terms, that doesn’t sound like much, it was enough to propel the 964 from 0-60 mph in less than six seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 160 mph. This is then run through a 5-speed manual transaxle, sending the power to the rear wheels. From the factory, this car was fitted with a limited-slip differential, which helps the car exit corners at a remarkable speed and gives the driver confidence in fast driving situations.

With more ordinary 964s values skyrocketing in recent years, the limited production variants have become quite collectible. This 964 WLT Cabriolet offers the best of all worlds: stunning Turbo fenders and chassis upgrades, a linear and fantastic sounding naturally aspirated engine, and beautiful paint-to-sample finishing, making this a truly unique and collectible car.

To many, the Porsche 964 is the ultimate generation of 911. Although it spent many years in the doldrums of the classic car market, over the past decade, enthusiasts have come to appreciate it as the perfect blend of classic 911 driving dynamics paired with more modern performance and reliability. In this era, Porsche was searching for ways to add variety to their product line, with minimal extra financial outlay and one of the limited edition models they developed is the “WTL” or Turbo-Look package. For an additional 36000 Deutschmarks over the standard 964 Cabriolet, you received the wider flares from the 964 Turbo, along with the chassis and brake upgrades from the more powerful car. In the eyes of many, this is what the 964 Cabriolet should have looked like all along, and with less than 1600 produced worldwide, it has become quite sought after.
