Model History:
Continuing the longstanding tradition of gradual improvement, Porsche announced the 991-generation 911 in 2011 to replace the well-regarded 997. As has become typical, the new model brought additional power, drivability, and comfort to a vehicle well-known for its daily-drivable performance. The facelifted variant, the “991.2”, was released in 2016. In addition to a series of small exterior detail changes, the new version of the 911 brought twin-turbochargers to the “Carrera” trim levels, with the base model’s 3.0 liter now producing 370hp and 331lb-ft of torque. This was good for a 0-60mph run of only 3.8 seconds.

Naturally, with the standard models now sporting such performance, Porsche felt it necessary to increase the level of performance offered by the Turbo models. Sporting a twin-turbocharged 3.8 liter 6-cylinder, the Turbos now produced an incredible 540hp and 486lb-ft of torque. With standard all wheel drive and a 7-speed PDK automatic, this sensational motorcar can launch to 60mph in an astonishing 2.6 seconds and run to 199mph. All of this with an EPA rating of 19mpg city/24mpg highway – more than respectable figures for a vehicle with its exceptional performance level, once again proving the 911 Turbo rewards its driver with supercar levels of performance along with luxury sedan drivability and luxury.
