The evolution of the modern Porsche 911 Turbo S model can be viewed as a continuous series of escalating ultimates. Beginning as far back as 1964, the new 911 was designed to be the culmination of Porsche’s engineering expertise. While fans of the final series of 356 Carreras might beg to differ, the 911 was dynamically head and shoulders above the outgoing model and has clearly stood the test of time, long considered the aspirational Porsche.

Within ten years, the automotive world saw the debut of the 911 Turbo in 1975, the first turbocharged Porsche, a car bred from motorsport and one that redefined speed and comfort at a level once unimaginable. Porsche’s advertising department rightly marketed their new supercar as, “Exclusive. Explosive. Expensive.” By the early 1980s Porsche began to offer an uprated 911 Turbo S through the Sonderwunsch or Special Wishes Department culminating in the most expensive, powerful, and desirable Porsche available to the public. Today’s Porsche 911 Turbo S continues the outsized tradition as one of the ultimate 911 variants offered to customers that continues to redefine explosive street-legal speed and exclusive comfort

Completed at Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen in December 2018, this 2019 model year Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe is a well optioned example finished in uncommon Carmine Red. Introduced in 1987, the darker, pure red lasted just two years before returning in 2012 on the new 911. The retro red suits modern Porsches just as perfectly as the 580 horsepower twin-turbocharged flat-six that powers it. A thoroughly modern seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission put the prodigious power to the ground through all four wheels. An electronically locking rear differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Power Steering Plus help to keep the power of this Turbo S in check. A bevy of features and additional options feature throughout including 20 inch Turbo S center-lock wheels, Sport Chrono, front-axle lift, Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), carbon-fiber interior trim, Adaptive Cruise Control, Burmester’s High-End sound system, PCM with navigation, and a heated steering wheel, all adding to the driving enjoyment.

Today this 911 Turbo S coupe is offered with just under 23,000 miles, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report and its original window sticker. It is often said that color can be the most influential factor in selecting a car and with Porsches this is even more accurate.
