When the drive and the joy of mechanics is the focus few cars are better than a GT3, and in combination with the Touring package and a manual gearbox it does not get any better. After some blow back from buyers of the 991.1 GT3 that thought that the car should have been offerd with a manual gearbox and not just PDK Porsche launched the 911R in 2016. A car that was just that, a GT3 with a manual gearbox. In all other aspects it was just like a GT3 exept one thing. The rear wing, so prominent on a GT car was gone, replaced with a more suble ‘Carrera-like’ rear. The car was a instant success and instant classic, but with fewer than a 1000 cars built Porsche noticed that there was still room in the market for something like this. And when the secon generation 991 GT3 came out, Porsche promised a manual gearbox but that was not all. There was a new optionbox to be ticked. 032 – Touring Package. A package that would follow in the fotsteps of the 911R with a more classy and subtle exterior and only to be offered as a manual.
