The 993 Targa model broke with Porsche’s traditional Targa roof in favor of a large sliding panoramic roof. Currently this type of ceiling is very common, but we must keep in mind that in the mid-90s it was quite a technical feat. As for the engine, being a version that was offered between 1996 and 1998, it already has the famous 285hp Varioram engine. Another distinctive detail of the version is its 17” wheels with a specific design.

The rarity and exclusivity of this unit lies in its Manual gearbox. The vast majority of 993 Targa came out with the 4-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, but a few units, like this one, came out with the 6-speed manual gearbox. In total (automatic and manual), 1980 units were manufactured in the 1996 model year. This specific unit is the number 229 build.
