A really lovely UK supplied C16 993 Carrera 2 with the six-speed manual gearbox and featuring a great specification. Being a 1996 model year car, it features the desirable Varioram engine option which lifts power from 272 bhp to 285 bhp with substantially enhanced mid-range torque. It was ordered in one of the nicest colour combinations of Midnight Blue Metallic with Light Grey leather interior and specified with the key options of factory air conditioning, hard back sports seats, electric sunroof, top tint windscreen and the larger Cup wheels. Most significantly it has covered just 36,000 miles from new in the hands of three private owners, has a full maintenance history and is in superb, unmarked order throughout.
The 993 was supplied when new by JCT600 based in Leeds and one of Europe’s oldest Porsche Main Dealers. They delivered and registered the car to their Sales Department as a show vehicle on the 2 April 1996 as stamped in the original service book which accompanies the car. JCT600 sold the car to a regular customer later that year who retained it until 2006. During his ownership the 993 was serviced by the supplying dealer as again noted with stamps in the service book, the mileage increasing to 18,000 miles since new ten years prior.
In 2006 this second owner advertised the Porsche for sale in the Motoring Classified section of The Sunday Times, the dominant marketplace for great cars at this time and it was spotted by the third and last owner, a serial car and particularly Porsche focussed enthusiast who was looking for just such a 993 as a 60th birthday present to himself. He managed to get to see it before anyone else, purchased it immediately and has cherished it for the last eighteen or so years. During this time the 993 has completed a number of European trips and has attended a number of classic Porsche events. It has been very well and regularly maintained as noted in stamps in the service book and detailed in invoicing, the mileage doubling to 36,000 miles in his eighteen years of ownership.
A 993 with a perfect specification with only 36,000 miles covered by only three owners that wants for nothing. It is in extremely good order in all respects, a real testament to the careful use and care of each owner, everything works correctly and, on the road, it performs with that fluent well damped feel exhibited by only the finest low mileage and well maintained 993 examples. It has the correct factory body stickers still in place and comes with all keys, books, tools along with a comprehensive history file.
